Summary:
The Project Controls Cost Scheduler provides profitability analysis, tracking of costs versus budget (both project and business-unit level), time and resource planning & scheduling, financial reporting, and other project administration duties for project/program managers as assigned. Their role is to provide support to all aspects of project execution including monitoring of resource utilization, developing change orders and supporting documentation, and advising Project Manager of critical issues and their resolution. Specific duties performed will be based on project/program specific needs identified by the Project/Program Manager.
Duties &
Responsibilities: Under minimal supervision, will provide
Analysis and review of cost/budget expenditures
Detailed computer generated cost reports, charts and diagrams
collection of cost and performance updates from engineering, procurement and construction management personnel
Documentation of historical cost and schedule data
Support and guidance to Project Managers in assessing project profitability
Facilitation of monthly invoice generation and preparation of supporting documentation
Project accounting set-up at project initiation and close-out at project completion
Monthly reporting for active projects
Document control duties as assigned on the project
Documentation as required for estimates and proposals
Time and resource schedules utilizing Critical Path Method scheduling tools
Change control and risk management processes
Mentoring for colleagues with less experience
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in cost accounting, scheduling, and/or project management on engineering services and/or construction projects
Proficiency and knowledge of cost/planning/control and reporting techniques, specifically project accounting practices and use of financial systems (e.g. system input and reporting, invoicing and cash flow, revenue recognition, etc.)
Very proficient computer skills using MS Excel, Access, Project, Word and Power Point
Working knowledge of Critical Path Method scheduling theories
Working knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera scheduling software
Proven accuracy, reliability, and completeness in job accomplishment
Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments
Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
Effective oral and written communication skills
Acceptance that some travel may be required
Qualifications:
BS in Accounting or related discipline
Experience in the T&D utility industry
VARIOUS LOCATIONS: JACKSONVILLE, VT; MCKINNEY, TX; FT. WORTH, TXEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
