Here we have a stunning example of a 1978 Honda Express Moped.
Fully original unmolested example.
Acquired from the second owner who had purchased it from the original buyers and kept it for 40 years.
It survived relatively unscathed and only shows 261 original miles, 10 of which were added while restoring and testing it.
Sold with a Bill of Sale only as it was not registered or titled by the previous owners.
Road legal in 49 states.
Details of light resto work $900 spent on it and endless hours to make it as special and perfect as it can be.
Wherever possible I sourced Honda genuine new old stock parts.
Some parts are still made, where others are unobtainium! Gas & oil tanks & cleaned.
Tank is like new.
Petcock cleaned & new seal.
Gas cap seal.
Carb stripped & ultrasonic cleaned.
New set of carb gaskets.
New genine tires.
A new ignition was fitted as these tend to burn out if the battery is dead as was the case here.
All bulbs were replaced with the correct wattage rating.
Speedo, High Beam indicator, rear stop/tail light.
A new replacement headlight faux sealed beam with changeable bulb was fitted.
The originals are no longer made and this makes changing the bulb simple.
A new air filter was fitted.
New tail light and license plate/tag assembly was sourced.
This is truly a rare unobtainable part that I found in Kuwait! The only damage is to the rear fender and this has been repaired with epoxy.
Finding a new/used fender is an impossible task.
eBay and patience is the only way.
A new battery was fitted.
Transmission oil was replaced.
The two stroke oil was refilled using Honda Genuine oil and this runs smokeless! See video link for a demo.
The autolube oil feed is working perfectly and was cleaned and tested.
New oil feed hoses & oil strainer.
Replaced fuel lines.
New cable clips on the fenders were fitted.
Honda Genuine parts.
Small clips and nuts and bolts were replaced and all Honda Genuine parts sourced from CMS in the Netherlands.
The entire bike was striped and cleaned and polished to a high standard.
A genuine original Honda factory service book is also included in the sale.
